Survey Data Acquisition and Deliverables for Remodelling of Canal Systems in Parambikulam-Aliyar Sub Basin

The project was undertaken to support the detailed remodelling and improvement of existing canal systems in the Parambikulam-Aliyar sub-basin. The scope included:

• Establishment of Ground Control Points (GCPs): Using DGPS technology for spatial accuracy and geo-referencing.
• Drone Survey Data Acquisition: Aerial surveys using high-resolution drones to collect topographic and elevation data across canal alignments.
• Survey Tools Utilized: Survey-grade drones, DGPS, and Electronic Total Stations (ETS).
• Output Generation:
  • Alignment plan of existing canal networks
  • Longitudinal profiles and cross sections
  • Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and Digital Elevation Models (DEM)
  • Ortho-imagery and CAD-compatible data sets
